Administration of Estates
|
The death of a family member or friend can be a time of great distress. Having to deal with the administration of his or her estate can also frequently be too much to cope with alone.
We deal sympathetically and discreetly with all aspects of the administration of an estate with the minimum of delay. This can often be a difficult time for loved ones and we will help offload some of the worries you may have and do the heavy lifting for you to progress the estate, with the various institutions you may need to contact including the OPG, HMRC, banks and investment companies and the Court.
We are experienced in dealing with all sizes of estate, or those where the deceased was domiciled abroad. We are also experienced in all aspects of estate taxation including Inheritance Tax and in negotiation with HM Revenue and Customs in relation to claims for Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief.
In cases where there is no Will or an out of date Will, if the beneficiaries are in agreement, we also have the expertise to vary how an estates is distributed in order to mitigate the Inheritance Tax liability or to build in some asset protection mechanisms through the use of Trusts.
