Lynn is a Partner in Commercial Dispute Resolution; Intellectual Property and Technology; and Data Protection.
Lynn is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Intellectual Property.
Lynn is also WS Accredited in Commercial Litigation and is described by her clients as a versatile and able civil litigator with strong advocacy, negotiating and drafting skills. Her experience covers a variety of legal areas, including intellectual property, technology, data protection, freedom of information and general commercial litigation.
She undertakes both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property and technology work, advising clients on all aspects of IP transactions, licensing, protection, enforcement and commercialisation. She has worked on a number of high profile intellectual property disputes, both for and against major international companies.
As part of BTO’s Data Protection Team, Lynn advises on data protection compliance, data breaches, claims and subject rights and advises on freedom of information matters for a variety of businesses and organisations in many sectors.
Lynn has made numerous successful appearances in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland including appeals before the Sheriff Principal and Sheriff Appeal Court, Tribunal appearances, appearances at the Court of Session, and at mediation and arbitration.
Lynn is a Trustee of the National Galleries of Scotland and was a director of the Scottish Society for Computers and Law between 2008 and 2020. Lynn was also the Scottish representative for the Forum of Insurance Lawyers’ Technology and Cyber Liabilities Sector Focus Team from 2018 to 2023.
