Statutory pay and compensation award increases from April 2020 – a reminder for employers

Employers are busy dealing with various challenges during the COVID-19 outbreak but should be aware of statutory pay and award increases which come into force this month. We have set them out below as a reminder.

 

With effect from 1 April – national living wage (NLW), national minimum wage (NMW) and apprentice rate

With effect from 5 April 2020 – statutory maternity pay, paternity pay, adoption pay and shared parental leave pay

Increases from £148.68 per week to £151.20 per week.


With effect from 6 April 2020 – statutory sick pay

Increases from £94.25 per week to £95.85 per week


With effect from 6 April 2020 – employment tribunal compensation limits
