Biography
Mark Colquhoun has advised clients for over 15 years on a wide range of commercial real estate issues.
His client base includes a range of institutional investors, funds, local developers, private investors, and occupiers.
He has spent over a decade acting for the UK’s largest retailer Tesco on all manner of deals relating to their huge Scottish property portfolio, covering the development of both large format stores (including complex sale and leaseback structures) and the rollout of leasehold convenience “Express” stores but latterly also in their disposal and repurposing programme.
His track record for investment sales and purchases includes city centre office blocks, shopping centres and more recently, industrial estates.
Mark frequently deals with the Scottish end of UK or international portfolios for London or overseas clients.
Albeit dual qualified in England and Wales, Mark solely focusses on the Scottish market. He is also a Notary Public.
What Clients Say
In the world of Scottish property law, Mark simply makes life a little easier. Having worked with Mark for a number of years on transactions great and small, I have no hesitation in commending his high quality, efficient and enjoyable style. (Fund Manager at a leading European investment company).
Mark is particularly good at understanding the more commercial aspects of a deal and providing excellent advice accordingly. He is very responsive to the needs and requirements of his clients, gets to the ' bottom-line' very quickly and dispenses the necessary advice as appropriate. (Development manager at major UK retailer).
After Hours
Mark enjoys coaching youth hockey and playing any sport involving a ball. He has a penchant for tropical music and (ideally) tropical travel. He lives in Edinburgh with his wife and 3 children.
