In an attempt to help address some of the many challenges and difficulties posed currently by the Coronavirus pandemic, BTO’s Intellectual Property & Technology Team is offering an initial 20 minute consultation free of charge.
This free service is aimed at technology and media companies and businesses or organisations with technology issues.
Recent measures imposed by the Government to combat COVID19 have changed the way in which many businesses operate virtually overnight. Paul Motion, Head of BTO’s Intellectual Property & Technology Team, said:

“The pandemic has impacted on contracts and business arrangements and put pressure on cashflow and business continuity - all while we try to cope with the new trials associated with remote working.
“Some organisations are facing greater pressure than others, and our team would like to contribute by providing some clarity and helping companies confront and tackle their business obligations.”
Matters with which the team will assist include: contractual rights and obligations; business interruption and force majeure clauses; service level agreements; royalties; licence payments and crowdfunding agreements for startup technology companies.
Lynn Richmond, a Partner in the team, commented:
“We are keen to give something back to the business community at a time when we all need to pull together to get back on our feet.”
Any businesses wishing to take advantage of this free service should send their details and requirements to tech@bto.co.uk and a follow up telephone call or virtual meeting will be arranged.
