Arti’s mother dies, leaving her fortunes to Arti and Arti requires assistance with her estate.
The loss of Arti’s mother was absolutely devastating, even if he had expected it for a number of months. He was appointed as her sole Executor, as his father had passed away some years previous.
However, the prospect of dealing with her affairs is the last thing that Arti wants to think about. He decides to visit Ross for some initial advice and to understand the process a little more. Ross is incredibly understanding of Arti’s situation and reassures him that there is no urgency in dealing with the estate. He understood that, amongst the legal process, the priority should be to give Arti and his family time to grieve.

Ross suggests that BTO’s trustee company be assumed as Executor in Arti’s place. This allows the trustee company to progress the administration at a quicker pace and allows Arti the time and space he requires at this emotional time. Ross is happy for Arti to have as much or as little involvement as he wishes – Arti prefers that Ross gets on with the work and only contacts him if there are any queries about his mother’s affairs.
Ross is able to contact the various banks and organisations, to deal with the sale of Arti’s mother’s property, to report to HMRC regarding her inheritance tax liability and to apply to the Court for the formal authorisation to ingather the assets and distribute them as per her Will.
