Kiltwalk 2025 - The House of Hope

Last weekend, three members of our Charities & Social Events Committee, who are ‘Fundraising Champions’ for BTO, participated in The Kiltwalk 2025 in Glasgow! 🚶‍♂️‍➡️🚶‍♂️‍➡️🚶‍♂️‍➡️

Diana McLeish, our Business Development & Marketing Executive (far left), was walking with her friend Ailie for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity on behalf of her son Mylo, to show thanks to the NHS and GCHC. This is part of a three event challenge with the three peaks to conquer in August and the Great Scottish Run in October. Diana commented:

I am proud to be a BTO fundraising champion supporting GCHC as a personal cause and look forward to working closely with our Charity and Social Committee to supercharge fundraising efforts for our nominated charity of the year.

Laura Salmond, who heads our Employment Law team, and her sister Ashley joined a mighty team of over 100 walkers in support of Back Onside, an independent charity which is committed to helping young people and adults who face mental health challenges due to social exclusion, disability or challenging life circumstances. On reaching the finish line, Laura said:

Was a blast! 23 miles in the bag and only a few blisters. Thank you so much to everyone who kindly donated to our cause, we are overwhelmed with everyone’s generosity.

Marianne McAvenna, our Business Development & Marketing Director (far right), was walking with her sister Angeline to raise funds for BTO’s newly nominated charity of the year The House of Hope Scotland.

This charity is creating Scotland’s first dedicated breast cancer wellbeing and support centre for anyone affected by breast cancer! The ‘house’ was founded Lisa Fleming, the wife of our colleague Euan Fleming.  Marianne commented:

What an amazing day. There was so much energy, enthusiasm and happiness all around us. It was a pleasure to represent BTO and kick off our fundraising initiatives for The House of Hope. Now I’m looking forward to participating in the next initiative for this special charity.

Collectively, our ‘fundraising champions’ have raised the fantastic total of £4324 so far… 👏 👏👏

THANK YOU to all of the friends, family members, colleagues and connections who have supported their fundraising efforts.

Your kindness means so much to each of these special charities! 💜

Let’s keep going!
