Katie joined our family law team in May 2025 as a Senior Solicitor, having made a specialism change to Family Law following an initial period after qualification in commercial litigation.
Katie provides advice in relation to a wide range of family law matters including separation and divorce, financial provision on divorce, and child related matters including residence, contact and specific issue orders.
Katie’s background allows her to shine when it comes to the contractual element often involved in Family Law disputes including the drafting of effective Separation Agreements. She tutored on the Contract and Unjustified Enrichment course at the University of Edinburgh, and successfully conducted both a Proof in the sheriff court and an Appeal in the Sheriff Appeal Court, showing the strength of her advocacy skills.
Katie is empathetic, calm and committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients. She focusses on helping clients resolve disputes constructively and, wherever possible, avoiding the cost and stress of litigation. Where court proceedings are necessary she draws on strong experience in representing clients effectively in litigation to achieve fair and practical outcomes.
Katie is a member of the Family Law Association in Scotland and the Scottish Young Lawyers Association.
