Keith Emmerson

Keith Emmerson is an Associate in our Construction & Engineering team.

Keith has many years of experience in all aspects of non-contentious construction and engineering law, providing advice to employers. contractors and consultants.

He has extensive experience in the negotiation of construction and engineering contracts (including those based on standard form contracts such as the SBCC, JCT and NEC), professional appointments, collateral warranties and all associated documentation to provide a market standard suite of construction documents.

Prior to joining BTO, Keith has had substantial experience in both private legal practice and in the public sector as an in-house solicitor, having worked for 7 years at a local authority.

Experience

• Advising a major Scottish-based contractor on cladding remediation contracts across the UK
• Advising the government of an EU Member State on public procurement of construction and infrastructure projects in Scotland and England as part of a review of their own national practices
• Acting for an overseas property investment company in preparing a full suite of construction contracts and professional appointments for the development of a substantial industrial unit in Lanarkshire
