Fraser Hopkins

Fraser leads BTO’s Construction & Engineering team.

He is a specialist in risk and construction disputes with over 23 years of experience working on high profile building and infrastructure projects across the UK for a mix of main contractors, developers and construction professionals.

While many of Fraser’s cases involve representing clients in construction adjudication or litigation, he also supports clients on ‘live’ projects with real-time advice – with a view to resolving issues and claims before they escalate or (if they do) ensuring clients are best protected should adjudication, litigation or other formal dispute resolution be required.

Fraser is ranked in both Chambers UK and the Legal 500 UK 2025.

Experience

• Representing a main contractor in a series of adjudications in relation to various main contract disputes arising from a major office refurbishment project to a Grade A listed building in central London.
• Advising a main contractor on multiple upstream and downstream claims arising from the design and construction of a major hotel development in Glasgow City Centre.
• Representing a main contractor in a final account adjudication in connection with the design and construction of a new city centre hotel in the south of England.
