Dianne is an Accredited Specialist in Family Law having worked in this area for over 13 years.
She advises clients on all financial and child-related aspects of separation, divorce and cohabitation, including complex high net worth cases and international/expat disputes. She also advises on advance planning to preserve wealth and manage risk (e.g. prenuptial agreements).
While Dianne is robust and rigorous in court, she also looks for opportunities to help clients work cooperatively, especially when co-parenting, and is training as a mediator. Having trained in counselling skills, she combines expert legal knowledge with kindness, empathy and pragmatism.
Dianne is also an Accredited Specialist and expert in Adults with Incapacity law, representing and advising families and public authorities in litigation relating to guardianships and powers of attorney (including recognition of foreign court orders in Scotland) and providing expert reports. Since 2022 she has served as a Safeguarder to vulnerable adults in Edinburgh Sheriff Court, and was recently appointed in this role for Glasgow Sheriff Court.
