He has handled thousands of cases involving all types of accidents, including accidents at work, road traffic accidents, and slips and trips. He has a particular expertise in employers’ liability claims. His experience ranges from minor injury cases to high value, complex claims.
Danny has vast experience of litigation in the Court of Session, where he has run proofs, jury trials and appeals. He also has extensive advocacy experience in the Sheriff Court and has appeared in sheriff courts throughout Scotland.
Unusually, Danny has substantial experience of acting for both pursuers and defenders. For about half his career he has represented members of the public or trade union members pursuing personal injury claims. The other half has been spent defending court actions on behalf of major insurers and clients such as local authorities. This gives him a unique insight into the different approaches and tactics employed by both sides.
