SLC report on damages for personal injury
The Scottish Law Commission has published a report proposing reforms to modernise and simplify personal injury damages law in Scotland.

Earlier this year, the firm undertook a governance restructure which produced a new, streamlined Management Board, comprising Grant Hunter as Managing Partner and Caroline Carr as Chair, along with Lesley Gordon, Partner and David Walker, Chief Operating Officer.
Also during 2024, BTO made a number of key partner appointments including three external hires and the promotion to partner of home-grown senior lawyers.
Coinciding with the lodging of its accounts, the Management Board unveiled its Strategic Business Plan for the firm for the next five years, with its primary aims of ensuring the firm’s continued success as one of the leading legal firms in Scotland with a progressive, high performing, positive and supportive culture focused on achieving sustainable and profitable growth; and to excel at being both great to work with and a great place to work.
BTO is also rolling out a brand refresh and launching a new website as part of its commitment to investing in the delivery of high-quality legal services.
