Parents
Many non-computer literate parents do not appreciate the potentially long term impact of internet postings on their children’s future career prospects or their personal reputations. The Facebook photos and comments that were hilarious at age 16 are not quite so funny when the child receives yet another polite refusal from a potential employer at 21. Teenagers and parents may need advice about the Terms and Conditions of social networking sites or advice about how to go about requesting removal of information posted about them by others. If you are a parent, ask yourself how much your child’s future reputation is worth to you and whether it would be worth taking steps to protect it if it is damaged.
