Katie is a solicitor in our Employment Department based in our Glasgow office.
Katie qualified as a solicitor in September 2021, having completed her traineeship with BTO. Katie undertook a varied traineeship spending time within our employment, insurance litigation and commercial dispute resolution departments. This has provided Katie with a breadth of experience in various types of litigation and advisory work, as well as the opportunity to appear in the Sheriff Courts.
As part of the employment team, Katie advises both employers and employees on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters including redundancy, grievance and disciplinary, unfair dismissal, constructive dismissal, breach of contract, performance/absence management, discrimination and harassment, and TUPE.
Katie has appeared on behalf of clients at Employment Tribunals throughout the UK and assisted with the preparation for hearings at the Employment Appeal Tribunal. Katie also drafts employment law updates and articles for clients and contacts.
Before joining BTO in September 2019, Katie completed her legal studies at the University of Strathclyde and spent a year working at the Scottish Law Commission as a Legal Assistant on the aspects of family law and surrogacy projects.
