Claire Christie

Claire is a Legal Director in the Divorce & Family Law team and has practiced exclusively in the field of family law for over 17 years.

Her practice covers all areas of family law, with a particular focus on financial issues arising from separation. Where litigation is required, Claire represents clients in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland and also has extensive experience as an instructing agent in Court of Session actions. Where possible, she is passionate about helping clients to resolve matters in a non-contentious way, particularly where children are involved.

Clients find Claire’s approach to be compassionate, pragmatic, assertive and solution focused.

Experience

• Representing client in connection with ongoing litigation involving the recognition of foreign decree of divorce and dispute on date of separation.
• Representing client in respect of Unjustified Enrichment proceedings following end of a cohabitation relationship.
• Heading up a Family Law department across four offices in East Lothian.
