Following the success of last year’s event, BTO has announced that as part of its “Working with You” initiative for trainees, the firm will be running another webinar to take the legal traineeship ‘experience’ to law students virtually.
For this live Q&A session, four BTO trainees who have experience of working in a range of departments within BTO, will form a panel and share their traineeship experiences.
During the webinar, law students will have the opportunity to ask any burning questions they may have about the traineeship process, what to expect in terms of support and how to make the most of the traineeship experience.
Kate Ross is a trainee in the firm’s Construction & Engineering team who has recently accepted a full-time position with the firm. Kate said:
“As a BTO trainee, I have gained experience in a variety of different areas of the law and have been given the opportunity to closely work with Partners and Solicitors across the firm who are specialists in their fields.
“My supervisors and colleagues are enthusiastic about their work and willing to share their insights into the challenges faced by our clients and the solutions we can provide.
“They have trusted me with substantive and interesting tasks since day one of my traineeship and encouraged me to expand my legal knowledge and take on increased responsibility. Thanks to this supportive and positive environment, I have grown in confidence and feel ready to fully qualify as a solicitor!”
Grant Hunter, BTO’s Managing Partner, added:
“We always aim to make the traineeship experience as beneficial and enjoyable as possible and to encourage career progression within the firm. Indeed, seven of our current partners are former BTO trainees.
“Based on positive feedback following our successful session last year, we know that this Q&A webinar will help future trainees who are about to embark on their legal careers.
“We understand that many students will have no prior experience of working in a law firm and we would encourage them to join us and benefit from the wisdom of our soon to be qualified lawyers.”
BTO’s panel will consist of: Kate Ross (Construction & Engineering), Daniella Zecchino (Corporate), Kimberley Tochel (Employment Law) and Hannah Ironside (Family Law).
This session will take place via Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 28 August,12:00 – 12:45.
