Biography

Kirsteen advises on a wide range of commercial and contractual disputes and has extensive experience of handling litigation in the Sheriff Court.

Described in the Legal 500 as 'friendly and knowledgeable', she advises business clients regularly on litigation issues and remedies arising out of a range of commercial contracts.

Kirsteen is experienced also in debt recovery actions, including protective diligence and enforcement action. She often acts for Trustees under Trust Deeds and Sequestrations, Receivers, Administrators and Liquidators and has a firm understanding of all aspects of insolvency.

She acts also for BTO’s Registered Social Landlord and mainstream lender clients, as well as landlords and tenants in the private sector, in relation to a variety of property issues and disputes.

Kirsteen holds the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency (Scotland) qualification from the Insolvency Practitioners’ Association. The CPI is a respected qualification, one which very few Scottish lawyers possess. The qualification will provide added value and expertise to the clients who Kirsteen represents, fulfilling her aim in securing it. Kirsteen has also been accepted as an Affiliate member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association (IPA).

Kirsteen is an affiliate member of the Institute of Credit Management (ICM) which is the largest professional credit management organisation in Europe. It represents the credit profession across trade, consumer and export credit, as well as in related activities such as collections, credit reporting, credit insurance and insolvency.

She is also involved with the R3 Scottish Women in Insolvency Group, a networking forum to help business development challenges faced by women working in the industry.

Kirsteen enjoys taking part in and watching all types of sports, especially tennis, hockey and running. She has completed in the Edinburgh and New York marathons for charity. Also enjoys socialising, particularly eating out and trying new bars and restaurants, and travelling, especially city breaks worldwide.
