Karen has specialised for almost 30 years in all aspects of commercial conveyancing with (since 1990) a special focus on RSL work. Dealings with development sites (acquisition / disposal / site assembly work) is a strong feature of her day to day work, with new developments featuring both new supply shared equity properties and mid market rent. This has resulted in Karen being actively involved in the negotiation of contracts amongst RSLs and developer “partners”.
Karen has co-ordinated and dealt with all conveyancing requirements of RSLs including security related conveyancing and the management issues that arise in mixed tenure estates. She advises on a wide range of title issues, servitudes, planning agreements and related deeds of real burdens and deeds of conditions. Karen's ability to organise and manage volume conveyancing has been identified as a key benefit to clients proving of particular benefit in re-financing exercises.
Other areas of expertise include: mortgage to rent, transfers under the tenants' choice legislation and leasing of commercial property (offices, shops and factory units).
Chambers UK has praised Karen for her conveyancing work and impressed clients have commented "In difficult situations, we know that she is battling for us", whilst the Legal 500 notes that she is “recommended as being knowledgeable and pragmatic”.
