Jennifer is an Associate in BTO’s clinical defence team, ranked Band 1 by Chambers UK and the Legal 500.
Jennifer assists in representing doctors and dentists before the General Medical Council and the General Dental Council at interim order and fitness to practise hearings, and acts for doctors and dentists in clinical negligence claims raised in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session.
With over five years’ experience in employment law Jennifer also provides advice to both employers and employees (including doctors and dentists) in a variety of contentious and non-contentious matters and has significant experience pursuing and defending Employment Tribunal claims.
Jennifer’s recent experience has involved advising employers on issues with unfair dismissal, constructive unfair dismissal, collective redundancy consultation, disciplinary and grievance matters and ill health retirement.
She also advises individuals in claims arising from unfair dismissal, constructive unfair dismissal, breach of contract, redundancy, discrimination and unauthorised deductions from wages.
She is experienced in negotiating settlement agreements for both employers and employees and provides guidance on contracts of employment and disciplinary and grievance matters.
