Andrew is a Criminal Solicitor Advocate, highly experienced in criminal law. Over the past decade, he has represented clients in some of the most serious and high profile cases heard in the Scottish criminal courts. This has involved personally appearing in Sheriff Courts across Scotland, dealing with an extensive array of criminal offences, as well as working closely with Counsel in the preparation and conduct of matters heard in the High Court of Justiciary. Andrew is also adept at handling criminal appeals and has played a key role in cases taken to the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom.
Andrew has developed an excellent knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and has regularly acted for clients facing restraint, inhibition, civil recovery actions or confiscation proceedings in the Sheriff Court, High Court of Justiciary and Court of Session. These cases are often linked to large scale and complex financial crimes. Advising clients facing action under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 is a particular specialism.
In addition to his criminal caseload, Andrew regularly represents clients at Fatal Accident Inquiries.
