Well done to the brave bto runners at the Edinburgh Marathon Festival on Sunday 25 May. Despite some atrocious weather conditions, all runners completed the race and exceeded their fund raising target for the Beatson Cancer Charity.
The Half Marathon runners, Paul Motion, Jill Harris and Kim McLeod, had to suffer a delayed start standing in the pouring rain for a good twenty minutes, while getting soaked through and frozen. Paul mentioned that it took until mile two or three before he began to warm up.
The Glasgow and Edinburgh office relay teams were luckier with the weather, although they too had heavy rain during later stages of the Marathon Relay. The Edinburgh team comprised of Lesley Gordon, Laura Irvine, Lindsay Urquhart, and Ashley Mawby, and the Glasgow team consisted of Calum Sweeney, Lindsay MacNeill, Lewis Macdonald and Ross Brown. The team managed to raise £1906 in donations via their JustGiving page, and £457.50 in gift aided donations, making a grand total funds to Beatson Cancer Charity of £2363.50. A fabulous effort by all involved.
