Description:

Data protection has not been an issue that is traditionally at the top of the agenda for the construction industry. However, over the past few years, since the Information Commissioner’s Office investigated the blacklisting going on in the industry, data protection compliance is higher up the Boardroom agenda. Indeed, over the next two years a new EU Regulation will be coming into force and this will raise everyone’s awareness of privacy rights. The Boardroom must be aware of their DP compliance obligations to avoid ICO fines for non-compliance of up to €20,000,000 or 4% global turnover.
